Juventus Considers Alvaro Morata as Romelu Lukaku Alternative

Alvaro Morata Eyed for Juventus Return as Lukaku Deal Lingers

Alvaro Morata might just be on his way to Juventus for the third time, as reports from Italy indicate that he’s given the thumbs-up to the move. The Serie A heavyweights have been busy negotiating with Romelu Lukaku, and they’ve even restarted talks with Chelsea about a £38.5 million deal that could involve Dusan Vlahovic going the other way.

However, as reported by Calciomercato.com, while Lukaku remains their top priority, Juventus is considering Morata as a viable option. The Spanish striker has a history with the club, having played for them between 2014 and 2016, and then again from 2020 to 2022. The good news is that they’ve reportedly received a positive response from Morata himself for this reunion.

During his time at Juventus, Morata found the back of the net 59 times in 185 appearances across his two stints, making him the top scorer for the team. He secured two Serie A titles in his first run and was also part of the squad that made it to the Champions League final in 2015 under the guidance of Massimiliano Allegri.

Even though Morata might not be at his peak anymore, Allegri, who has managed him for a total of three seasons, believes he’s still a good fit for his system. Last season, the Spanish player managed to score 15 goals in 45 appearances for Atletico Madrid, who ended up trailing La Liga winners Barcelona by 11 points.

Should Juventus pivot towards Morata, it would leave Chelsea in a tight spot regarding Lukaku’s future. The striker’s rumored move to Juventus has reportedly caused some tension at Inter Milan, where he’s been on loan. However, Inter’s parent club doesn’t seem interested in having him back.

If Chelsea can’t resolve their attacking issues from the previous season, their manager Mauricio Pochettino might have to reintegrate Lukaku into the team despite the transfer speculations.

In the end, Morata’s potential return to Juventus opens up new possibilities for both clubs, and fans are left eagerly waiting for how this transfer saga will unfold.
