Napoli Pursues Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga with £25.9m Bid, But Offer Gets Rejected
Napoli has entered the race to sign the talented Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga from Celta Vigo, making a bold move with a £25.9 million offer. While Liverpool had their sights on Veiga as a midfield improvement for the upcoming season, Napoli swooped in, aiming to secure him as their prized asset.
Veiga’s release clause stands at £34.5 million, but Napoli is keen on securing a better deal. The challenge they face, however, is convincing Celta Vigo to consider their offer. At just 21 years old, Veiga has already made a notable impact with 55 appearances in Spain’s top league, scoring 11 goals for his team. Although Napoli’s bid was rejected, discussions surrounding a potential agreement are ongoing.
Liverpool, in their pursuit of midfield reinforcement for the new Premier League season, initially had their sights on Veiga. However, the focus has shifted toward securing a defensive midfielder.
