Endrick, the 17-year-old Brazilian wonderkid set to join Real Madrid, has opened up about his recent dip in performance at Palmeiras. The LaLiga giants have already secured his signature for a £50 million deal once he turns 18 in July 2024. However, Endrick’s time at Palmeiras has been marked by challenges, as he struggled to find his footing.

During this season, Endrick has found the back of the net only seven times and provided a single assist across 35 appearances. His role has been diminishing in recent weeks, and even his appearance as a substitute during Palmeiras’ 0-0 draw against Deportivo Pereira couldn’t spark a change.

In a recent interview with Spanish outlet Marca, Endrick revealed that despite the challenging times, he remains steadfast and resilient. He expressed gratitude for the opportunities he has and mentioned a conversation with Palmeiras’ head coach, Abel Ferreira, that helped him stay composed.

Endrick emphasized, “I don’t have anxiety, I’m not angry about not playing. I do what I like, which is to play football. I’m training, looking for my space. I’m a bit sad that I’m not playing but I have to control that a bit.”

The young talent acknowledged that he has faced harsh criticism from the press due to his performance decline. However, he found solace in his faith and highlighted the role of his beliefs in maintaining his mental strength. “I just thank God because he is the one who is with me every day, every night,” Endrick said.

He added, “Life outside is crucifying. I will continue training and playing. You can get angry with me but I am going to talk about God, I am going to transmit his word to the whole world.”

As Endrick prepares to embark on his journey with Real Madrid next year, his determination and optimism remain unwavering. Despite the challenges he’s faced, he’s focused on his passion for football and his unshakable faith, ready to take on the opportunities that lie ahead.
