EPL 2023/24 table – Updated 27/08/23, 22:00

Key Points:

  • If the FA Cup winners end up in the top five of the Premier League, their Europa League group stage spot will be given to the next highest-ranking team not already qualified for Europe.
  • Manchester United’s Carabao Cup victory in February 2023 secured their Europa Conference League play-off spot for Aston Villa.
  • Winners of these competitions earn automatic qualification for the next season’s Champions League.
  • If a top-four Premier League team wins the Champions or Europa League, their European spot via league position won’t be transferred.
  • If a non-top-four Premier League team wins both Champions and Europa League, the fourth-placed team in the Premier League drops into the Europa League due to a maximum of five English teams in the Champions League.
  • The Europa League group stage spot will also be given to the team finishing fifth in the Premier League and the FA Cup winners (or the highest-ranked non-qualified team if the Cup winners already qualify through the league). This would result in three teams competing in the Europa League.
