Nottingham Forest in Advanced Talks to Secure Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea
Nottingham Forest, a football club on the move, is engaged in advanced discussions with Chelsea to bring winger Callum Hudson-Odoi on board.
Hudson-Odoi, once a shining star in Chelsea’s lineup, has found himself surplus to requirements under the management of Mauricio Pochettino. Since his return from a loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen last season, he has been honing his skills with the Chelsea under-21s squad.
While there were previous talks of a potential move to Fulham, those prospects have fizzled out. Now, as the transfer deadline looms just around the corner, all indications point towards Nottingham Forest as his most probable new home.
If this move comes to fruition, Hudson-Odoi will have the opportunity to reunite with his former England youth manager, Steve Cooper, at the City Ground. Cooper led the under-17 England squad to victory in the 2017 World Cup, with Hudson-Odoi as one of the standout performers.
Hudson-Odoi’s journey has seen its share of ups and downs. Despite initially making strides in the Chelsea lineup, a setback in the form of an Achilles injury in 2019 disrupted his progress. Now, at 22 years old, he is primed for a fresh start, eager to reignite his career.
With talks in motion and the clock ticking, it’s becoming increasingly likely that Nottingham Forest will become the next chapter in Hudson-Odoi’s football journey.
