Young Brazilian Sensation Lorran on Manchester United and Chelsea's Radar
Published: 29 September 2023
Manchester United and Chelsea, both struggling in the early part of the season, are keeping a close watch on Flamengo's young star, Lorran. This keen interest comes despite the transfer window shutting just a few weeks ago.
Seventeen-year-old Lorran, an attacking midfielder, has been turning heads since making his debut for Flamengo. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that scouts from both Manchester United and Chelsea have recently been closely tracking this rising Brazilian talent, born in 2006. Lorran's contract with Flamengo includes a hefty release clause of £43 million.
Lorran, making history at Flamengo by becoming their youngest-ever goalscorer, is represented by Roc Nation Sports Brazil, the agency associated with Jay-Z. Other notable names under their banner include Vinicius Jr, Paqueta, Martinelli, and Endrick.
Lorran, an international for Brazil's U16 team, emerged from Flamengo's youth system and made his senior debut at the tender age of 16. Just two weeks later, he etched his name in the club's record books by becoming the youngest scorer in its history. Since then, he has cemented his place as a crucial member of the squad. Lorran's contract runs until 2025.
Chelsea has demonstrated a keen interest in young Brazilian talents, evident from their acquisitions like Deivid Washington, Andrey Santos, and Angelo, following the arrival of Todd Boehly.
It's safe to say, it's all kicking off as the race for this exciting prospect intensifies.
